I’m not too sure about the colors on the rock face but I do really like the water. Did you do individual strokes for that effect or did you use a pattern and was this using Procreate? Questions, questions….and i want answers!! xD

Yeah, they are a little Day-Glo, aren’t they.. I wanted to mute them more later on but i guess i forgot about it. i don’t know how as it seems so obvious now.
This was done in Ps CS5 and with a flattened hard round brush and later attemps at blending using a camel hair brush.
The water was painted with individual brush strokes as i blocked out the colours first in big, simple minded chunks. Then instead of blending like you usually would (fill at 50% to create a half tone between the two colours you want blending), i thought about how the water actually doesn’t look all smooth in the first place and that if i just made disc shaped brush strokes of, say, the dark blue going into the green blue and vice versa; that would give me a nice and simple blend. Of course, when you look at the picture as a whole, it doesn’t work because some of it is smooth blended and other parts are choppy. At least i figured out a new technique though and it’s all learning!
